Dr. Mario Turri-Zanoni is an Italian Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon. In 2013 he spent an educational period at the M.D.Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA, under the mentorship of Ehab Y. Hanna. In 2015 he joined the Faculty of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Insubria University in Varese, Italy, as a Consultant (Chief: Prof. Paolo Castelnuovo). His current research and consulting activities are concentrated on multidisciplinary approaches to the sinonasal and skull base cancers, focusing especially on the new histopathological and molecular markers able to personalize treatment strategies and stratify patients according to the prognosis. His surgical skills are mainly focused on endoscopic sinus surgery and expanded skull base approaches. He is the author of over 70 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and 12 book chapters, especially in the field of endoscopic skull base surgery. He has been invited as a Faculty Member in more than 80 national and international conferences, including over 40 as a Distinguished Lecturer. He has participated as invited Tutor in over 60 training courses in endoscopic sinonasal and skull base anatomy and surgical techniques (basic, intermediate and advanced levels). He is a Member of the Anatomical Lab “Head and Neck Surgery & Forensic Dissection Research center (HNS&FDRc)”, Lab Head, Prof. Paolo Castelnuovo, at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy. Moreover, he is member of Italian Society of Otorhinolaryngology (SIO), Italian Academy Rhinology (IAR), American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). From April 2018, he serves as a Junior Member in the Board of the European Rhinologic Society (ERS). He is currently a PhD student of the “Biotechnologies and Life Sciences” course at the Insubria University, Varese, Italy.
